CONTRACTOR STATUS

NON-CONUS Assignment: Contractors assigned Overseas, 365 days "more or less" / non combat zone - (ex. Spain, France, Germany)

  • Contractors who are being assigned overseas must be processed through a personnel servicing agency in accordance with all DOD policy guidelines and Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA)/Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA).
  • In Germany and Italy, the personnel servicing agency is the DOD Contractor Personnel Officer (DOCPER). For more information and guidance regarding the contractor (not applicable for civilians) SOFA/TESA application and approval process for Germany and Italy, access the DOCPER at the following hyperlinks:

DOCPER is just an example of a regional personnel servicing agency. For further questions, contact the personnel servicing agency specific to your region.

NOTE: A Contractor should travel with his or her existing ID card and wait for any card reissuance following his or her arrival in the host country where he or she is assigned to work.
